FAQ's

What does 'one~of~a~kind' mean?

Jewellery and trinket dishes/trays are one~of~a~kind and the only one made, making them as special as you are. There are no repeat colours or patterns in the same earring, necklace or bracelet design.

What does 'handcrafting' and 'handmade' mean?

Made from scratch; designed, conditioned, dyed, embellished, hand~cut, baked, drilled, sanded, finished and assembled by Sophie in her South London home.

Clay designs are created in different ways, some require making into a clay 'cane', which is then sliced, rolled and cut into beautiful vintage inspired shapes and patterns. Others are marbled or topped with embellishments such as mica powder, eco~glitter or texture added to the design. Once baked, I sand the polymer clay to give it a smooth and silky finish. Some are then coated with varnish, resin or left natural depending on the look and surface that may need to be protected.

Jesmonite designs are measured, pigmented, mixed, sanded and buffed by Sophie. Accuracy is so important to ensure the trinkets cure correctly and therefore they also have a slow~made nature to them.

How are items finished?

Depending on the collection, jewellery components are either left natural to add to their intended matte or glossy buffed design. Sometimes I use a thin coating of varnish or resin to protect the layers of mica powder, gold leaf, eco~glitter or acrylic paint underneath which give more depth to their intended glass~like appearance. This information is detailed on individual products for you.

Can I get an item gift wrapped?

Yes! All earrings are presented on a So & So earring card and then wrapped in vibrant pink tissue paper with a So & So sticker. Your recipient will also get a thank you/care card included to give advice on how to make your earrings last for years to come. Earring parcels fit through the letterbox, perfect for sending a surprise gift! Please include the recipients full address and the message you’d like to be included on a gift note.

Can you make a bespoke or personalised order?

I love to make bespoke orders, please send me your wish-list and I will work with you to create a bespoke pair of earrings or trinket for you! Anything from initialised to colours or patterns I haven't worked with before. I can also create multiples for bridesmaids or a bridal set for your wedding. To start the process off, use the customer contact form.

How do I see what size the earrings are?

Please take a look at individual listings for the size of each pair of earrings, as they are made from different shapes and combination, there is not a set size. My 'mini' earrings are suitable for children to wear, do take a look at the measurements before ordering. Where possible I try to include a photo of me 'wearing' earrings with my handy try on sticks so you can visualise how they may look on you.

Do you do wholesale orders?

Absolutely, I am available for small batch wholesale orders, and on a slow-made turn around. Please use the retail contact form for further details.

Do you accept exchanges?

I currently don't except exchanges due to the one~of~a~kind nature of the products I make.

Do you accept returns?

I accept returns on necklaces, bracelets, trinket dishes and trays. Due to hygiene reasons, I do not accept returns or exchanges on earrings because the items could have been worn by the purchaser. If, for any reason you find a fault with your earrings, please contact me about this further. Please see the shipping and returns page for the full policy and details.
